Wild Dunes, SC Local Information
Wild Dunes is the closest gated beach resort to downtown Charleston. Seabrook and Kiawah are often compared to Wild Dunes because they’re the only other private resorts in Charleston, but they’re more than 30 minutes from downtown. So, if you’re looking for the privacy and seclusion of a private beach resort but want to be as close as possible to Charleston, Wild Dunes is the best area to start your home search.
Wild Dunes amenities are some of the nicest in all of Charleston. You’ll find two of the best golf courses in the Southeast, Wild Dunes Links Course and the Harbor Course. The Links Golf Course ends on the oceanside of the island, with finishing holes by the sea that are reminiscent of the game's origins in Scotland. The Harbor Golf Course runs parallel to the Intracoastal Waterway and has great marsh views. Both courses were designed by Tom Fazio, and they have a combined average of more than 70,000 golfers who play each year.
The resort also has excellent tennis facilities (complete with 17 Har-Tru courts and a full service pro shop). In fact, Tennis magazine ranks Wild Dunes as one of the top ten tennis resorts in the country.
In addition to golf and tennis, Wild Dunes Resort has many other amenities that cater solely to its residents’ and guests’ needs. You'll find multiple swimming pools with club houses. In fact, most of the beachfront condo communities on Wild Dunes have their own private pool. If you need some rest and relaxation, treat yourself to a day at the resort's spa. Some of the best restaurants are the Sea Island Grill and Lounge and The Lettered Olive. Venues like The Sweetgrass Pavilion, The Boardwalk Inn, and the Grand Pavilion are ideal for business conferences as well as weddings and other social events.
Whether you’re looking to host a cocktail party or have a family getaway, Wild Dunes Resort is sure to impress even the pickiest person in your group.
